I am a holistic fitness and wellness coach living in Toronto, Canada. Over the last 7.5 years, I’ve taught classes in gyms, studios, corporate settings, and privately. My clients have ranged from teens to seniors and everyone in between, each with unique goals, fitness levels, and health concerns.
My name is Arfa
The Salam Wellness Method
I help women reach their fitness goals through a gentle and holistic approach.
Gentle: Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to be crushed by your workouts or be dripping in sweat to see real results. Research shows we can reach our fitness goals through sustainable, appropriately challenging exercise that doesn’t leave us completely wiped out.
Holistic: While we primarily focus on exercise, I also provide guidance and education on proper nutrition, sleep, and stress management - because true well-being requires caring for your whole self.
The Salam Wellness Method is a fusion of:
-
Classic Fitness for building full-body strength
-
Mat Pilates for deep core strength, stability, muscle awareness, and body control
-
Mobility for joint health + moving without tightness or stiffness
What I Offer
Private Sessions: A personalized plan designed with your specific goals in mind, with a focus on muscle building and lifestyle coaching. Available as 1:1 sessions or in small groups of up to 3.
Group Fitness Classes: A well-rounded program developed using the Salam Wellness Method and built upon from there — with a general fitness focus that benefits everyone.
All programs are for women only.
My Philosophy
When we take a moment to reflect, we see how the human body is truly incredible, سُـبْحانَ الله. I’ve witnessed how with the right inputs, a stiff body can become mobile, a weak body can become strong, and a sick body can begin to heal, بِإِذْنِ اللَّه . No one is too old, too unfit or has too many health challenges start (or continue) exercising. The key is having an appropriately designed program that meets you where you are—then, with a little consistency, you might just surprise yourself.
Fitness and Islam
It is sunnah, and perhaps an obligation: our body has a right over us.
Prayer requires healthy joints and flexibility to move and hold postures with ease. Hajj (pilgrimage) requires cardiorespiratory endurance, strong legs, and physical resilience. Fasting is easier with proper nourishment, no nutrient deficiencies, and balanced blood sugar.
The above is a snippiet; in so many ways, the sunnah way of life encourages us to live healthy and well lives.
